Mission

Foster Academy provides an inclusive and supportive environment to help students with high functioning Autism, Asperger's Syndrome and other learning differences achieve success.

Vision

Foster Academy will tailor educational opportunities for its students in the 5th through 12th grades using best practices in autism education with the ultimate goal of preparing students for living and working in their communities.

Our Philosophy

At Foster Academy, our teachers and administrators value an inclusion model, otherwise known as a Least Restrictive Environment (LRE). What is unique to Foster Academy is the emphasis on both LRE and the combined knowledge and respect that our teachers bring to the classroom regarding the unique differences for children and teens with high functioning ASD and related symptoms.

Our Story

Foster Academy was founded in 2017 and is a mission of University Baptist Church. Foster Academy serves students in grades 5 through 12 and provides an inclusive and supportive environment to help students with high functioning Autism, Asperger's Syndrome and other learning differences achieve success.

Foster Academy is the only school in Huntsville focused exclusively on providing individualized spectrum-based education to students with high-functioning Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Foster Academy was founded in 2017 to serve a population of students whose needs have not been fully met in other school environments in the area.

Foster Academy was founded to meet a need we saw in the community to serve students and families who do not find the support they seek in other institutions.
